The Government-General of Chōsen Building, also known as the Japanese General Government Building and the Seoul Capitol building, located in Jongno District of Seoul, South Korea from 1926 to 1996. This photo taken c.1955 shows the "burned and gutted" derelict building after the Korean War before a full restoration in 1962. The building was long felt to be a symbol of Japanese imperialism and was demolished 1995-96.
